Ask! Ask if you can buy your coffee, cappuccino, tea in your own cup!

Avoid coffee-to-go in single use cups.

(Or ask if you can buy something in your own bag or container)

Today I bought my first Cappuccino in my own cup on board a train! 🙂
On my way from Munich to Frankfurt, the woman behind the counter of the „Bordbistro“ was positively surprised. She said that only very few people bring their own cups. She also told me that I would get a 0.20 EUR discount, but apologized that she could not find the button to apply the discount. She was really interested, started to discuss with me about waste and plastic cups and bottles, and asked where I purchased my cup.
PS: Another positive surprise: They have the sugar in a refillable jar, not these small packages. Less waste and most often people want less sugar anyway.

So, please just ask if you can bring your own cup, bag, container. Often, you will succeed and be able to save single use packaging!

And apart from that, you will see that it leads often to really interesting conversations with the staff in the shops and sometimes other customers, too.
