Day 19

Enjoy life!

Spend your time wisely, there are a lot of nice things to discover „just around your corner“. For many attractions, there is no need to spend several hours on highways and in traffic jams.

But far too often, we as parents try to do too much, try to squeeze too many things into our days and weekends. „Simplify“ your life, take a break from stressed and packed weekends and tight holiday-schedules.

Munich offers a lot of attractions, and you can easily walk, go by bike (great family exercise!), or take the MVV.

Many attractions also offer annual tickets, e.g. Deutsches Museum or the zoo Tierpark Hellabrunn. Annual tickets are also great, because they help also to take away some stress: You don’t need to see everything within one day, you can return as many times as you want for as long as you want during the next 365 days.

You can also bring your own food and drinks.

I really do like the Munich zoo, because the animals have space (and the zoo is still improving the areas), they also bread some animals, and they try to teach a lot about the animals. You can also attend some events during the day, staff from the zoo will then explain something about the animals and/or they feed the animals. BTW: Great opportunity to also talk about food with children!

Summary: The Tierpark is a great place to discuss all kind of issues with children. Why should we protect nature, which animals live where on our planet, would you prefer to live in a zoo or outside in nature? How old are the animals in the zoo, how old are animals in their natural habitat?

Polar bear Giovanna and her daughter Quintana enjoy life, too!
